Dr. K S Subramanian

 

Prof Subramanian (INDIA) is currently the Director of distance learning in IT with the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). He held important positions such as Senior Deputy Director General at National Informatics Center (NIC), Ministry of Communications & Information Technology, New Delhi, and the Information Technology Advisor to Comptroller & Auditor General of India.

 

His 30+ years of experience includes planning and implementation of major Information Technology projects of Railways, Police, Immigration, Passports & Visas, Banks, Reserve Bank of India and coordinating the computerization of finance and Audit functions of Central and State Governments. Well represented in many professional bodies such as IETE, IEEE (USA), and Commonwealth Center for Electronic Governance, India.

 

He is also the emeritus president of e-information systems, security, and audit association. (www.eissa.org). He served as panel Member on many committees including UN Technological Committees notably ICAO, Indian Representative in the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP), Chairman of Bureau of Indian Standards' LTD-38 -Committee on Information systems & Security.

 

Dr. Subramanian has been the Visiting Professor at National Institute for Multimedia Education, Japan, adjunct professor at IIM Lucknow., IIT Delhi, the Fore School of Management, IMT Ghaziabad, MDI and NILLM. He has authored many publications and was recognized by the Commonwealth Open University, UK with a doctorate. His forte lies in the areas of IT & BPR, IT Management, IT and education (e-Learning), e-commerce, e-Governance, e-Audit, e-security, Software Engineering, IT for socio-economic development, Databases and Networking & communication technologies.
